I have recently purchased a fairly standard late 19th c. mid terrace. External it's stone built with a red brick inner leaf. The house was damp ex-rental vacant property so I investigated by hacking off the patchwork gypsum/polyfilla/plastic lined plaster board and found the red bricks to be wetter than an otters pocket and in pretty poor shape. My plan is to remove all bricks to the window sill (8 rows) and have them replaced (using lime mortar as this is used throughout the building). Has anyone had to do this and did you use bricks or product such as thermalite blocks. The wall will be finished, eventually, using Warmshell IWI
