I am trying to find out any information available on soot washing of bricks (applying a soot wash, not washing soot off).
How often should this be done? Does it damage the brickwork? How long should it last?
The property in question is a Grade II* listed Georgian property in London that was soot washed approximately 18 months ago and as with any external paintwork, has begun to fade.
Any information that anyone has on soot washing would be gratefully received as it seems to be a bit of dying trade and as such there is extremely limited information available.
Thanks.
