I’m totally fed up

We had no summer last year. It’s now April and nothing has changed. I’m totally fed up. Can’t use any lime mortar, temperature outside below 5 degrees C. Cant paint outside, temperature below 10 degrees C, Can’t paint windows inside, condensation on windows. Can't fix swollen front door, its still swollen due to cold damp weather. Took pot plants outside a couple of weeks ago thinking that spring was about to start and now they’re suffering. I’m told it might reach the dizzy heights of 8 or 9 degrees next week but constant drizzling rain is predicted. I think It’s time to sell up and look for a restoration project in southern Europe maybe a nice cheap stone built farmhouse in Greece Spain or southern Italy ?

Not soo bothered by the awful weather at the mo, but a summer for once would be nice.
Think of it like that old tv show, challenge anneka. Once the good weather does come you'll be the one pitted against the clock sorting everything out.

Hurrah! It's finally over 5 degrees and I can limewash my cellar! It'll be my maiden experience with lime - I have read all the theory and it's really quite exciting to put the theory into practice! Michael, I hope the slight upturn in degrees has you feeling less fed up!

totaly understand your frustration !
Was doing really well last Autumn, had two bedrooms nearly ready for liming, so ive been waiting for weeks to start...hopefully next weekend. Got 10 tubs of putty waiting and staring at me!
couldnt do any work between christmas and a few weeks ago...just too cold to work!

Spent the time working on indoor jobs...making windowsills, architrave and skirting, ready to fix when the first lime is up.
Cant wait to get going!!

haha...yes i have that flooring too.just getting ready to lay down the underlay(6mm foam for soundprrofing), and new floorboards(12inch x 1inch thick pine) next week
