I said 3 hours ago :lol: We discovered one of the stair treads was bending very alarmingly so that was the project for today, get it fixed enough so that we needn't worry about crashing through it. Under the stairs is an area untouched by the 'modernization' the rest of the house has suffered - lime washes, tiles, the lot. Next to that is some of the same stunning wallpaper my daughter was helping with earlier in the week, so I thought I'd just have a peak beneath that. Now it's 3 hours later and we've had more of the wallpaper off that, a section of polystyrene ceiling tiles down (to reveal lovely paneling !), and then somehow moved to an upstairs room and have completely stripped the exterior wall there and removed the old storage heater while we were at it. Ummmmmmm. To us, this looks like awesome progress, because now we can see lots of lime plaster in need of only minor repairs - YAY! However, I can see that to some people, it looks like we trashed the house. The day before the inlaws arrive. Errrrrrr....
