Anyone have any ideas on what the original use for these would have been? They’ve been used as flags by the previous owner of our property, also got a few loose ones left lying around,

Are they garden wall capping stones? If they are about 11 inches wide that might be a possibility.

18 inches long, 3 inches thick, 9 inches high. Yes I could see them as a wall capping originally.

18 inches is quite wide. Wonder if it was a stone wall or a brick wall where they made the effort to do a bit of corbelling at the top. Is the any evidence of an ex-wall? Assuming still a wall capping and it could of course be something completely different.

Presume they would be the frog for them being bedded together on a wall?

They used to add holes for stress relief to prevent large bricks from cracking during firing. Let the brick dry from inside as well as outside Though that hole does seem a little small for that purpose. I've never fired bricks myself but the most expensive brick in the world (half round corner) had some holes in the middle.
Easier to add a frog though than a nice even through hole I would have thought…

They're known as double cant bricks. Used as coping or for corners. You can get single cant as well, and also standard brick sizes.
