Very doubtful. Not many Victorian or Edwardian terraces seem to be listed.

It looks as though the estate agent is hoping it will sell on the fireplaces alone!

Interesting detail: why finger plates above and below the door handles? Children's mucky fingers, perhaps?

Good point Flyfisher the fireplaces seem a little out of kilter somehow--over the top.

They are just painted slate! I've seen similar surrounds in similar houses in Birmingham and know of a reclamation yard with many of those surrounds with painted panels. The grander houses at least near me tended to have marble surrounds or if more arts and crafts inspired, then oak or mahogany. I think they could be original. Additionally in my house, although my front room fireplace was removed before I bought it, the wooden bead strips either side of the chimney breast have cut outs exactly where a mantel shelf would have been, suggesting the shelf stuck out beyond the edges of the chimney breast, so was rather large and grand for the room like the ones in the house in this thread.

I believe that the fireplaces are orginal. The range certainly looks original. You can get similar fireplaces locally, but not the range, and they are usually damaged in some way, so that condition is unusual.

I do like the fact that the finger plates are above and below. Its a four bedroom house, so a family would have lived there afterall.

I believe it should be listed, but I doubt it will be.

Also, suprisingly, it isn't in a conservation area. Although it is between Coltman St, and the Boulevard which both are. (One of the restoration programs featured a project in this area).

Unless it gets bought by someone who cares, it will have plastic windows, and the kitchen area will be ripped out within 12 months. And the roof will have concrete tiles like next door.
