There is always a plea for pics of our period properties but I can never find a way to reduce my pics to a size the site will take. So can you see my cottage on google earth with street view using this post code? SA19 7HA. If so its the obvious old longhouse next to the corrugated iron sheds.

and yes the cottage has a tin roof and we have applied for planning to replace it with a new tin roof, See my previous posts about why I think its a good thing. As for the noise we hope massively thick insulation, for U values etc plus sound insulation will reduce noise to a gentle pitter patter.

Also right off topic but further to another current thread as I write this my CD is playing the title track from Parklife by Blur. A track about urban living and Im so glad I don't live in the city any more. Whoops the shuffle has just shifted onto "Squeezing sponges over policeman's helmets" by Gong. Ain't life full of surprises.

You can still get hold of either type without problems. The lead free available now does seem to work better than that available a few years back - I guess they have the formula right now. I haven't found a good one with a water based flux yet though.

IF you're using Windows XP...

This Microsoft XP power toy adds a right click mouse menu option for images that allows you to copy and resize images at standard resolutions (640x480, 800x600 etc.) in one go, making a new smaller copy and leaving the original image unchanged.

It applies quite high compression so they should be small enough to attach here.
