Hydropanels

Having purchased and stowed all the necessary sanitary ware for our bathroom, and despite having to wait until probably November to get my chosen fitter to start, I am turning my mind to the decorative finish. My 'signature' bathrooms have always been white, goods, gold taps etc, against deep blue tiles and Venetian white walls.
The plain blue field tiles have always been interspaced with a hand transfer motif, which has now been discontinued and I simply cannot find an alternative to suit my pernickety taste! ( Art Works, Winchester, Original Tile Company, to name but a few!). I am also fed up with seeing pictures of bathrooms tiled out in the latest underground fashion. So, I am minded to stand out from the crowd, as is my wont, and go for wallpaper with a hydropanel on the wet wall area, (shower over bath )

Is anybody using hydropanels in this way? Eastbrook offer Mirror gloss or standard PVC panels.

Do you mean that over the shower/bath area you will use a clear hydropanel over a wallpaper? Or am I being dumb, again, (I'm rather insomniac at present, and think I have zeb-lag), and you mean that you will use a hydropanel over the shower/bath, and wallpaper elsewhere in the room?

Zeb-lag or not Zebra, sensible question as I too was suffering from overheating and omitted the key fact! Yes, I do mean using the hydropanel over the wall paper in the wet area. I spotted a very glam bathroom in a glossy interiors magazine with just that! ----mind you it was all so hi spec that it's either a room set or the bathroom belongs to those types who never use that particular bathroom! Rather like those who install Aga s and never use them! Seriously though, I would have thought that using all the waterproofing PVA etc and installing the hydropanel correctly there shouldn't be a problem. What do you think? Glass splash backs seem to be ok behind cookers where there must be a fair amount of steam and condensation.

Incidentally I have now received the second of my three estimates for the update of the bathroom and it has come in at around £2,500 which is much better than the first one, snag is he wants to take 14 days to do it, and cannot start until NOvember!!!!!

I'm planniing to refit our bathroom next month. I'm not sure I dare show a picture when it is finished as it will have 6 x 3 inch tiles adorning the lower portion of the walls which could be described as "underground fashion" or alternatively just tiled!

Used them in my shower room at tne last house, was very happy with them and will use again in this one. Saves messing with grout for one thing

The panels were more pastel coloured than i had expected - i bought them online and was glad i chose the darkest / deepest colour available- but that might be because it was a few years ago and they were new to market. Perhaps the range has improved by now
