How to tell if our floor is lime ?

Hi all, does anybody know of a away we can test our floor to see whether it is made of lime or not, Looking at it, I guess it may have been but has been topped with cement, if I took a core sample is there an acid test or similar ? thanks Stuart

I believe if one puts a chip of lime in vinegar, it fizzes.
