How to get white gloss paint off beams

Any suggestions?

Any firms that will do it in the Mid Wales area? Apporx cost for a 15 ft x 16ft full beamed ceiling?

Any suggestions for diy? What to use etc. I've been told white gloss is especially hard to remove, any truth in this?

I've used Klingstrip many times, but on black gunky stuff. I'm sure they'll have something for white gloss.

I can testify to kling strip happily removing white gloss. How easy it is to get it all off will probably depend on how smooth the wood is underneath. It does a lovely job on a smooth surface.

I did approached a company about removing it with soda - but they won't do white gloss, said it is harder than black to get out and results were not good enough - so we shall use pint striper instead. I cant find accompany that uses ice blasting in the area.

My beams are 500 years old and anything but smooth, it did a wonderful job on mine, but it was long and hard work to get it right.
