Thanks for the info, Ilona, but I don't think I'll be watching.
I've lost track of the number of "renovation", "makeover" and "start a new life" programmes that I've tried watching. Somehow I always seem to end up sounding like one of The Grumpies* (an admission with which Mrs P would heartily concur).
In order to make "good television", there always has to be a crisis, someone always has to cry, and the really interesting details (if there were ever any) about materials and techniques are invariably glossed over.
And if I hear the phrase "flooded with light" just once more, the sainted Kevin will be defenestrated.

i would tend to agree with you ... but for once it even had the conservation officers in it discussions... an original tudor door and how was best to sort it etc... was pretty informative in some senses not the usual make over series we have all come to groan at....
