Hose pipe ban and pressure washer

Does anyone know whether builders can use a pressure washer whilst there is a hose pipe ban on?

These are difficult times for builders, they are being constantly rained off. As soon as it stops I am sure they can. :wink:

Seriously though, I dont think hosepipe bans apply for people that have to earn a living and need to use hoses or pressure washers.

But better check with your water supplier, apparently, and depending on the water supplier, one side of the street can use hose pipes and the other side is banned.
A can see a good business opportunity here -- selling hosepipes reels up to a couple of miles long -- :wink:

Will check with Anglian Water. We, as yet, do not have a water supply.( or drainage, or power!or bathroom or kitchen to put services in!) Previous tenant had no services at all! We're not sure how she survived, apart from signs of loo rolls in back shed in garden. :shock:

Businesses can also use a hosepipe to provide the following, where it is done as a service to customers in the course of a business:

Clean a private motor vehicle
Clean windows at domestic premises
Clean walls at domestic premises
Clean paths
Clean patios
Clean an artificial outdoor surface.

Thanks. Interestingly Anglian water responded to my e-mail saying that my builder could not wash my walls during the hose pipe ban. I forwarded the info from their website and asked for clarification, cos its seems a contradiction!

Just had a definitive reply saying builder CAN use a pressure washer! Hurrah! Next wall can be done.
