hiding an extractor fan exit on listed pitched roof

I am installing a bathroom in a single storey listed building.
I am required to have an extractor fan near shower and to vent it through roof. I have to make the exit point not visible from outside. the roof is pitched and is covered by reclaimed clay red pegged tiles.
Best way of hiding the exit point please.

I presume you do not have gable ends which you can use then. Couldn't you fix a " slit" vent under the protruding tile overhang.

I've just gone through this with a slate roof - I'm not listed but I wanted as unobtrusive a solution as possible

Your local builders merchant may be able to order you something suitable especially to suit a local roof type.

I also found tile vents on eBay - search for "tile vent" and you should come up with some options.
I got mine from a seller called 1st 4 vent as it was the right size/shape/colour and came with the internal adapter for the shower extractor.

Brace yourself for the cost, I found they went from £10 for a reclaimed one on eBay up to £50 for something from Travis Perkins :shock:

Just had the same problem. Building control relented on the trickle vents but wouldn't let me not have an extractor fan so about to do a very naughty thing. Extractor fan installed and working, building control due to come out next week and pass it, extractor fan will then be removed and an old-fashioned metal sliding air vent installed in the hole. Don't plan to move house (ever, if I can help it).

I don't know what the construction of your roof is, but if you've got reasonably deep soffits that are accessible from the loft, you could perhaps vent the fan downwards through a soffit board.

I managed to get rectangular flexible hose from Homebase, which fed neatly between the slates and the ceiling and popped out in the coal shed. The roof vent that the builder suggested was slate coloured, but was over an inch higher than the slates, so would have stood out like a carbuncle on an otherwise smooth roof line.
