Strange that they say "One of the most spectacular and unexpected locations for such a discovery was the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
In the south-east pylon, just along from the Opera House, ......." Neither of the bridge pylons is "just along from" the opera house, they must have been having a little joke giving directions to the clueless Pommy reporter.

The south east pylon is the one just to the left of the Opera House in that pic. It's certainly much more like "just along" from Sydney Opera House than the last place I saw concealed shoes

Well, how strange! Last time I was there the southern pylon was definitely "just along" from the SOH. No more than 20 mins walk on land, through The Rocks and Circular Quay. Less by boat.

Perhaps they've moved it. :?

If the artefacts are being removed when buildings are renovated, can we look forward to news stories of hauntings and evil spirits?

I've got some old shoes lying around that are too far gone to give to charity, and I'm trying to keep stuff out of landfill. I've also got walls to build!

Very interesting article in the link. I hadn't realised that although there have been many discoveries of hidden garments, no written references to the practice have been found. Clearly many of the people who did it couldn't write, and the article suggests that those who did it might not have wanted to talk about it in case it drew the unwanted attention of witches, but it's interesting that nobody wrote about the practice at all.
