Cynic that I am, I find myself reading such documents with a jaundiced eye. We've seen so many so-called 'Government Initiatives' turn out to be a series well-turned phrases and well-coined sound-bytes, 'full of sound and fury, and signifying nothing', that I tend to regard statements and proposals like this as just a load of fluff.

I don't intend to suggest that the current Listing system is flawless, or that nothing needs to be improved, but I do worry that any change to the status quo - in this or any other field - is actually only a smokescreen to disguise cost-cutting.

Still, never mind eh? At least I get to live in a 'Heritage Asset'.
