After using the product and being very happy with the result, I reccomended Osmo Polyx to my builder.
He used it on a house in Wales he was working on. His carpenter sanded the varnish off a 5 year old oak board floor, of down to bare wood, and applied a coat of Osmo Polyx.
He called me in a panic: "it hasn't dried and there are brush marks".
I advised him that Polyx needs to be spead as much as possible and that non should remain on the surface. That is why there are brush marks and why it hadn't dried.
So he had the excess surface oil removed with a cloth and rubbed the floor clean with a some white spirit.
After the wood floor was practically bare wood again, he re-applied a coat of Polyx, this time, extremly sparingly.
He is an expert decorator, so I have no doubt he brushed the oil in well and left no excess.
There were no brush marks, but after 3 days, the floor was still not dry...
The house is not heated and is near a canal or river and windows were closed.
My latest advice was to open the windows and allow some ventilation.
I feel a bit guilty because he is being harrased by the client and architect and I'm the one who advised him to use Osmo Polyx.
