Just a quick heads-up. A series called Ration Book Britain starts tonight at 9pm on YeSTERDAY. It's all about living in war-torn Britain. Just thought it might be interesting to some of you. I've no idea whether it's good, bad or indifferent, so I don't want to be held responsible if it's carp!! :lol:

The use of capitals is how it is (Channel 537). And a television probably is too new for a period home but since I watch mine in a 1980's caravan I'm sure it's permissable. No?

It's interesting how those who don't have a TV are always anxious to advertise the fact. I have a tiny suspicion that there's some kind of intellectual-superiority thing going on here. :wink:

We have the best of both worlds. We have a TV, but it's hidden away in a cupboard, so when we want to impress people we can pretend that "we never watch television - it's all such rubbish.".

There's a channel called Dave?

In the olden days, I think this channel was called UKTV Gold, which accurately described its fayre of repeats of classic BBC TV programmes.

I never understood the rebranding to "Dave", although it did offer the opportunity for the +1 channel to be Dave JaVue or something...
