Hurrah! Springy evenings are not far away. I love it when the days start drawing out, and so do the chickens (who come into lay)
And I got my oil just now, so am having a happy Solstice Day indeed watching James Burke's "Connections" on YouTube (it's amazing)

Congrats on your oil delivery!
Our Solstice jobs have included such delights as moving a cabinet full of lead crystal glasses to the livingroom, polishing silver in readiness for christmas, shifting a Grandfather clock and buying 3 sledges for the kids. All this so i can finally make a start on steam stripping the newly emptied dining room wallpaper.
Ross on Wye has a "cheapshop" locally known as Woppers, yesterday they sold out of sledges (unsurprising) and told Mrs CS that they were expecting a delivery today. We just got back with 3, leaving just 4 left in stock - After this mornings delivery of 370!
At least someones making money? We have had two Xmas bashes cancelled (one last night and one tonight) Pubs and restaurants must be really suffering the pinch even harder. So perhaps we had better have a snowy walk to our local and give them some support.

I remember that James Burke series when it was first broadcast back in the 70s. He was frequently on the telly back then, I wonder what happened to him?

One of the best days of the year. It's all happiness and light from now on. And a lunar eclipse to make it extra special. Finally got the car out of the snow and got to Sainsburys - and there was no queue. No Christmas tree yet though - can't get off the main roads to reach treey suppliers. May make do with a few bits of stick and some baubles. What are you doing for alternative trees?
