Gypsum and lime plaster wall

Hi I have a 400yr old Sarcen stone cottage the lounge has a mixture of sarcen and lime plaster on.
Parts of it need to be re-plastered, is it OK to do patch plastering with lime plaster? I know ideally the whole wall should be re-plastered in lime but I'm a pensioner

I’ve patch plastered before with lime - feathering the edges and giving a decent damp down should be fine

If its relatively small patches you might be better off using a dedicated lime filler which will contain chalk, for example, giving you a more workable finish. A bit like the equivalent to Easifill.

Bear in mind if your painting your walls with a breathable paint you may get a patchy finish depending on what you use.
