Green Earth Paint

Has anyone used Green Earth paint? I came across it today and was surprised to see that it's based on soya (rather than on petroleum derivatives). The matt emulsion claims to be breathable.

Not I.

The idea of using soya oil as a medium instead of petroleum-based materials is to be welcomed. Whether it has any advantage over linseed oil, the traditional medium, I know not. They appear to be cheaper paints than Holkhams linseed oil paints but note the suggested coverage of 12-14m2/l compared with 20+ for the real McCoy.

I haven't see an indication on the website as to whether the colours are mineral pigment based or dyes. There is a difference. Apart from the white pigments/fillers calcium carbonate and titanium dioxide there is no pigment list on the technical data sheet.

I am concerned about the 'Themilite' range. The technical data sheet at http://www.greenearthpaint.co.uk/ThermilcoatDataSheet.pdf
claims 'They are Thermally Efficient Paints that reduce the loss of heat through the painted substrate by up to 25%.' and apparently includes 'Thermilate Composite Spheres' in the composition but there is no mention of snake oil. 'up to 25%'? That's a percentage of what? Anyway, 'up to' includes some quite small numbers.
