Greasy nose smudges on windows

Does anybody else whose property adjoins the footpath get greasy nose prints on their windows where people have looked through windows? Quite often they get the fright of their lives when they scan the room and notice me waving back!

The local historical society always brings a group our way (unfortunatley most of our small town was modernised/vandalised in the 50's, 60's and 70's and historical buildings really suffered).

:lol: I never had nose prints on the window, but that was only because people couldn't get that close due to railings and a lightwell. Fond memories of standing in the dining room eating cereal and looking out through the shutters and seeing people peering in completely unaware of me ...... they eventually spotted that I was there, at which point much giggling.

Not that I mind, fair play really as I'm very nosey myself. Once walked slap bang into a lamp post because I was checking out someones living room in the early evening when the lights were on and curtains open.

As I havent yet moved into my house, I havent encountered any sweaty noses on my window!(there is a public footpath that runs past my kitchen window,this path was the only way down the mountain to the grocers shop(my house) but when I do move in i'm going to have an assortment of Halloween masks at hand or depending what mood i'm in I may pull a moonie (that'll scare 'em) :lol:

We have this too and when we were doing work on the ceiling of the room in question, we even had concerned members of the public knocking on the door asking what we were doing and did we have LBC! One even rang our CO. Builders were horrified. Locals see it as 'their house', we are merely custodians of the local heritage.

It doesn't worry me now after fourteen years. I just don't clean my windows very often.

I bet they would'nt see it that way if their share included the paying of bills.
I bet if you approached the council stating that you wont pay council tax on a property you do not own but are just minding for the country's sake they would send you out some unpleasant letters with big red writing on the front.

Yaay, I'm so ecstatic that I've found the "facey things" I've almost forgot what I was about to post! Oh yes, greasy nose marks. Our cottage fronts directly ( by directly I mean step out of front door onto Double Yellows, no causeway etc) onto a road. Quite happily picking out curtain material/paint colours/carpet, covered in cement dust, when I overheard someone talking about said cottage. Intrigued, I clamber over God knows how many bags of rubble, to have a peep. Suffice to say an elderly lady (whilst being berated by her male companion) fell through the front door. I promptly invited her in for a look round (We're very proud and shareworthy of the cottage) (Is shareworthy a made up word?) For some reason she rather hastily declined. If she does happen to read this forum, though, if she's ever walking down Cliff Street and sees a light on, give us a knock, we'll be more than happy to give you a guided tour

Oh, I'd definitely be a nose smudger! Love peering in town and village houses, if you can surreptitiously get away with it. I have definitely said yes to agbagb's kind offer.

My public (we're surrounded by footpaths) get these views - they've no idea it's a three storey house.

No greasy noses at all, but lots of interested commentary.
