Grants for the preservation of historic thatched buildings?

So far I have seen systems in place in Scotland , N,Ireland and Wales. Are there any grants available in England?

If you could move the cottage up here, we'll give you a maximum of £6 for thatch work, and if you can move it to a conservation area and get it listed, you can have an extra £3k for other repairs done at the same time.

Thats a shame , 6K would be 2/3rds the cost of a re-thatch on the north facing bit of the roof and a ridge.
We could dismantle it and rebuild in your garden Gareth, I can see the headlines now.
