Can anyone recommend a good book on how to repair traditional buildings using traditional techniques? I'm new to this and want to gem up on how to do things using traditional methods - I'm sure this knowledge will help me when it comes to talking to builders/workmen and asking for quotes.
I saw the one by Richard Oxley advertised 'Survey & Repair of Traditional Buildings - A Conservation & Sustainable Approach'. Also there's one by Janet Collings 'Old House Care & Repair' (in the book shop on this site) - has anybody here seen these? Are they any good? Or maybe there are others I could consider? There'nothing worse than ordering a book online and then being disappointed when it finally arrives! Many thanks.
