Sometime ago I posted about a planning application for our neighbouring property, a former Chapel ,standing no more than 8ft from our property, and with large windows looking directly into our main bedrooms and bathroom, and one large window at the high gable end forming the boundary to our garden . After some considerable discussions with the CO to try to accommodate the owner's aspirations to change to Residential use, a fairly satisfactory decision has been made. The windows overlooking our bedrooms etc are to be obscured glass with frosted glass windows introduced behind them inside, and the gable end is to be clear glass, but with the internal second floor level being placed 12ft back into the building, so all the residents can see is sky and trees, not downwards into the garden and hopefully we will not be able to see in. I am quite pleased with this decision. The bad news is that a vast amount of scaffolding has to be placed on top of our outbuildings roof, and wrapped around the gable end to enable the builders to repoint, re- roof and remove asbestos etc. Fortunately the scaffolding, once up will be caged off and the builders are decent chaps ( so far anway) so here's hoping for their meeting the timescale of 6 weeks without any dramas.!
There are, apparently, to be no further planning applications allowed on the building.
