Received via e-mail today from SSE team, so if anyone is interested I'm sure you'll be welcome:
GLOBAL WARMING DIARY DATE - Thursday 27 April 2006
If you're interested in global warming issues - or would like to find out more about them - you might like to attend the forthcoming public meeting to
be held by Stort Valley Friends of the Earth on Thursday 27 April at 7.30pm at the Methodist Church Hall, South Street, Bishops Stortford.
The theme of the meeting which will be addressed by Mark Prisk MP (Hertford and Stortford) is "Stortford-on-Sea: Global Warming - Local and Global Impacts". Other speakers include Dr Heiko Balzter of the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology and Katie Elliott from Friends of the Earth UK.
It is part of a greater drive to provide insight into the issue and to stimulate involvement in the Friends of the Earth "Big Ask" campaign on climate change whose main purpose is to promote the Climate Change Bill.
This calls for a government commitment to legally binding reductions in UK CO2 emissions of 3% year on year, to meet the target of reducing the UK's greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
