I have a new lower sash as part of a renovation of the existing windows, as the old one was beyond repair.
That was the easy bit. THe tricky bit was when the joiner made it too thick, and so went away to machine 3-4mm off the face of it.
The frame is now the correct the thickness, but now the recess for the single glazing is 13mm deep. Is this enough for normal linseed putty?
Glass is about 4mm thick.
