Getting in touch with West Country SPAB people

Hello,
I'd like to get involved with a local SPAB group. However the Devon group don't appear to meet regularly. Does anyone know if the Somerset or West Dorset groups are active? And could give me any leads/contacts?

Amanda Watmore co-ordinaries SPAB in Somerset, she's also a conservation surveyor with Jonathan Rindt Associates near Taunton, lovely lady. Her email is a.watmore@jonathan-rhind.co.uk.

I haven't heard of any events recently but she often organises talk and visits so worth giving her an email.

We went to a talk by Patrick Stow on structural issues in historic properties that she organised a while back and it was very interesting.

Thank you, TheForge. That's really helpful. I'll email her. Funnily enough I know Patrick Stow as he used to live about half a mile from me. When we bought our cottage he came round to assess a problem with greensand because we wanted to build an extension. He's a nice man.

Patrick is great, he was one of the first professionals who saw the forge after we bought it and he took one look and said, "You had a survey on this?! What did they say?" With an upturned eyebrow.
