Has anyone seen about the new Estate Agency specialising in the sale of Georgian Houses, linked with the Georgian Group.. an interesting concept!

Hopefully their mailing list might produce viewers who understand what they are looking at.

A friend of mine who has a lovely Georgian property on the 'ordinary' market was rather taken aback when the viewers remarked that they would not be prepared to pay the asking price because they needed to spend over £100k putting in marble bathrooms and stone floors and were afraid they would not get their money back.

Honestly, as if the house doesn't already have a beautiful original stone floor lovingly restored and cared for..!

Hi,

having read the details provided by the Georgian Group concerning their newish initiative it appears that people selling their property through the venture could be charged a commission of up to 2.5% if the 'Modern House' business model is used.

On a £800,000 property this will equate to £20,000 of which a percentage will go to the Georgian Group.

Alternatively, you could sell your home on PPUK for between £40 to £95.00. Leaving you with up to £19,000 to donate to the Georgian Group if you wish.

Today's evolving estate agency business is all about driving down costs and getting consumers a better deal. It is not about maintaining the status quo with high commission fees.
