From the 1960s, I seem to remember an identical (or at least very similar) building on the Kings road in Chelsea, almost opposite the Six Bells. Could this be so?, was it a pattern building for car parking? Or is it a sign of an old and be-fuddled mind.

Chuckey, I think you may be right. Unfortunately whilst my husband was alive I rarely drove in London. (Male thing) I had been driving in London for years. Can't remember exactly where but it is something else now. Beautiful building.
