Garage Door - Planning regs.

Hi all,

I have a two bay detached oak framed garage built relatively recently. One bay has doors, the other doesn't. I would like to add doors to the open bay and remove the stud wall that separates the two giving me more room to work around the cars. Does anyone know if I need planning permission to do this?

Sounds very unlikely unless the open half was a condition of the original planning approval for some curious reason.

Is your house listed? If so, then that means that everything within the curtilege is listed, so LBC may be needed to remove that wall and add the doors.

If it's not, and assuming that the dividing wall is not load bearing, then I don't think that you need to worry. But a call to your local planning department would give you a definitive answer.
