Hello!
Wondering what you all think of the rather large gap between the windows and walls!!
I would rather it was less of a big gap, surely it will not offer much of a good wall insulation & secure - ness.
or will it not matter once it’s re plastered?
after removing all the cement that was on the window reveals, it was actually holding the windows into the walls…they’re not fixed with anything else jsut the cement….
Which makes me think they’re not (original?)
We’ve had 2 different opinions of they are original or not! One from the conservation officer (he thinks they are, and one from a mainstream company who came to see them, said the horns were Georgian)
the windows are a lot drier since removing the cement but alas, lots of damage., too late.
when we start to re plaster (i think were putting SECIL eco cork on, then the lime finish)
What should we block the gaps up with?!
A sort of Timber frame ? Pure lime? Lime and small bits of slate / stone?
Many thanks
