Hi,
We've now been in our house (C17 Grade 2 near Evesham) for 1 year and starting to look at stuff that needs to be done...hopefully nothing tooo major - but you might se a few posts here!
The first one is a gap between a new-ish window frame and an original timber. Looks like the concrete has fallen out.
It is quite a deep gap - as hopefully the picture will show.
I have been reading posts on this very interesting, supportive and I'm sure will be very useful forum...and I now know what oakum, burnt sand mastic and lime mortar is - and I have a feeling that those might be involved in the solution.
I am trying to find a builder to help - but they seem to be busy at the moment - but it would be useful to get some opinions on what to do - either to validate what any builder I might find suggests or if I have to roll up my sleeves and do it myself.
There is probably some discussion on what is coating on the timber is - we have some
Thanks in advance
Huw
