I’ve just used some strips of pine to plug the gaps in the top of an old rustic stripped and bees waxed pine kitchen table. The table top comprises of three wide planks nailed to the frame but for some reason the gaps between the planks was far too wide, hence the infill pieces.
I tried bees waxing the new strips to blend in with the old but with no success.Still far too white.
Solution, I happened to have a cigarette in my mouth while I was waxing and a piece of ash dropped onto the table. I rubbed it into the freshly bees waxed repair and it now blends in perfectly
