Well Folks, I have a dilemma here. Our front door is painted a most insipid appley green ( previous owner) I hate the colour, and intend to change it to Hague Blue.
BUT -- shouldn't the colour really be more sympathetic to what is revealed when the door is opened----- the hallway is carpeted with deep crimsony/burgundy velvet that we brought with us when we moved. The walls are buttermilk and the furniture is dark rosewood and mahogany, so that is what you see and not remotely bluey grey as in Hague blue. The trouble is I am really a blue and green person, but downsizing meant I had to run with what we had rather than start afresh. What the hell--- probably despite what we all say I shall go with the Hague blue, but I'd love to know what you all do about your front doors. I could of course go black, but I hate black and will not haveit in the house!! I have added a smart brass knocker and letter box and the windows will be white in due course.
