Front Door Colours (Again)

Mrs P and I are having a 'discussion' about the repainting of our front door.
Below is a mock-up of the 2 main contenders.



What're your thoughts. Cast your votes Anything else we should consider?

I'm generally hopeless when it comes to colours but would vote for black on the basis that the window frames are black and white.

Now, if the windows were green and white instead . . . :wink:

Definitely black, in keeping with the rest of the house and doesn't stand out as much. Green actually makes me eye drawn to the bushes and trees!!

Black to match the windows, or if using a colour then you'd need to use it somewhere else too to tie it in.

Green. Front doors should always be green. It softens the house.

That's a very smart job you've made of the exterior. As greenery is a feature, green. I like integration between house and garden.
And it's south facing? So black will not last anyway.

*sigh* - despite my convincing evidence and the collective widsom of the forum, I've resigned to a quiet life and asked the painters to appease Mrs P and paint the front door black.

It's actually north facing, so suspect it will last a frustratingly long time. My only hope is that the old front-door will show the imperfections and wood-grain through the black and hence I may have a second chance to revert to green.

The sunshine was very kind in the photos to the state of the outside painting. It needs to be repainted. With all my spare time currently being sapped by the new kitchen install, we've brought in the professionals to do the painting.
