Hi,
I am having issues with some woodlice coming in under the skirting in a few rooms. We have a cellar underneath about two thirds of the downstairs. I have figured out that the only rooms this happens in are ones where there is no cellar underneath the floor. Furthermore, they come in through the external front wall where there is a flower border on the outside. Going round to inspect the border I measured it is about 8cm above the floor level so this is the culprit I think as the rooms the woodlice come in are the only two rooms with high ground levels on one of the walls. Since there are shrubs with deep roots in the border it is hard to lower the ground level of all the border so I was thinking a trench in front of the wall with maybe some sort of french drain? Any ideas on how best to make this trench when I lower the ground level? Should I maybe put some sort of lining against the brickwork?
Any help is appreciated.
