I have a number of pallet rings, that I've no use for now that seem a shame to just throw in the wood recycling skip.
Pallet rings are used to build packing cases - they are 4 pieces of timber, hinged at the corners, that sit on a pallet. Each ring is about 7" high and you build them up to whatever height you want, they interlock. Their original use was for transporting industrial machine parts.
They're ideal for building compost bins, as when you want to empty them you just lift the rings off. Not pretty but functional! Similarly they'd be good for raised beds on a vegetable patch.
I've about 30 rings, which was 7 packing cases and is enough for at least 4 compost bins - each are euro-pallet sizes (800 x 1200mm, or roughly 2'7" x 4' if you prefer proper measurements!) - plus 7 pallets if you wanted them.
Free to anyone who wants them, downside is you'd have to collect them from near Telford next weekend - or speak to me very nicely and if you're local I'll drop them off with my trailer for the petrol money.
