Would it be possible, within the extent of listings, to provide safe pedestrian access to my house by extending it at the rear, where there is safe vehicular and pedestrian access to the garden, but not directly the house? (Sorry, awful grammar)(or is it grammer)
The sort of thing I have in mind would constitue an entirely separate small building , about one room and a corridor big, accessed from the main house by a stairwell leading from the kitchen...the plot at the rear being 20 ft higher than the plot of the house. My imaginings see the fabric of the old house being changed only by the addition of a doorway in the rear wall from the scullery leading to the stairs up, the extension being a kind of separate wing, though rather more humble.
I know such queries are a bit sticky without drawn plans etc, but I'm only at the ruminating stage, sorry.
