Flooring advice

hello....

I have been looking for advice on flooring in my grade 2 house
and this place seemed the most obvious. I own a 1740 built
Georgian townhouse and wondered if I needed consent for;

laying wood floors
&
fitting a new kitchen.

Any help would be great.

Yes, probably. A freestanding kitchen might not, but new floors sounds like they will.

If you contact the conservation officer, they will advise. Listed building consent is free to submit though you may have to prepare plans, etc.

thanks for the info; as far as our local conservation officer can gather the flooring wont need consent as long as we're not altering existing doorframes
or floor levels - which we're not - which is good,

the officer mentioned about the kitchen that if we are making alterations to the structure/old bread ovens etc then we'd need consent, apart from that - no : )
