I've started to clean up the Victorian quarry tiles in the kitchen following the recommendations in the article on this site http://www.periodproperty.co.uk/article015.htm.
After using a dilute solution of the KF Tile restorer a lot of the tiles now have patches on them that are much lighter in colour than the rest of the tile.
Is this the original colour of the tile and is it that the darker areas need a lot more cleaning and elbow grease or has something gone tragically wrong?
This patchy appearance wasn't apparent until the tiles were completely dry.
