flicker light candle bulbs.

So here's the thing , i bought one of these today.

now , as lovely as this is it just doesnt put out enough light. so , can anybody recommend a solution? a flickering solution? i have thought about led's but they wont look flame like and putting a candle in there would be asking for trouble.

also , eating more carrots or using night vision goggles is out of the question.

You could install a fluorescent tube with a dodgy starter.

Other than that, I fear you have a choice to make. You can either have phoney candlelight or you can have light.

i think you are right Penners, it was a silly idea really , people would only be calling the fire brigade all the time thinking my hall way was on fire.

ive fixed the wiring now , replaced it for something more modern. the bracket was earthed but i checked it over again to make sure. judging by the lamp fitting and wiring i would say that lamp has been there a good few years now , or i could be completely wrong.
still , disappointed with these flickering bulbs , they just dont give out any light at all , a candle gives out way more light than these things so not very realistic unless you wish to simulate a candle just about to go out, in which case they are perfect.

i think i need a medieval shake down , i have to keep reminding my self that we live in 2010! its hard with a house like this though , anything from almost any period looks modern and out of place.
ive bought an arts and crafts copper lantern for the front door and even considered a flicker bulb for that.
