"First Cut" Logs Source??

Hi, this is slightly off the usual track, but my local sawmill has closed their log processing business down and I need to find a source of "First Cut" log sections (the left over bit with the bark on when the sawblade goes through the log for the first or last time). I need about 50m2 to do some cladding for a project I am planning. If anyone has any contacts for this kind of thing I would be grateful. Thanks and regards. John.

If you can get as far as Horncastle,Lincolnshire, Nelson Butlers will have some. What on earth do you want it for though?

Hi Biff,
Thanks very much for that - I'll give them a call.
I use it for cladding various things to give a rustic look - in this instance I am building a multi-purpose outside room (glorified shed!) and want to give it a log-cabin type look.

John - have you tried phoning round any other sawmills in your immediate area? Provided they convert logs, they should have plenty of this - often called "slabwood" or "falling pieces" (in this area anyway!).
