Fireplace finally

hsve had a mad moment and got round to ripping it out. My question is can I use a dry screed mix to lay bricks or stone in fireplace to stand a stove on or should I bed them on a wet mix. Cheers also what ratio of sand and nhl 3,5 ahold I use

I would go a wet mix like you would use if you were laying bricks. 3:1 sand to lime is a fairly common mix. Ideally sharp sand rather than builders sand but it's not going to be taking a lot of weight so it doesn't really matter what sand you use. The pointing will look more interesting with sharp sand with a stiff brush an hour after it's started drying to expose some aggregate.
