Have recently laid porcelian floor tiles in my hallway. They are black and red square tiles laid on the diamond, quite nice in avictorian house, although much nicer than the lamnate that was previously down (not by me).
the tiles are made by pilkington, made of porcelain and have a matt finish.
We were told to seal them by the tile place we boughtthem from, but were reluctant to do this after redaing various things on the forum.
When we grouted them we were left with awful stains on the tiles, like astickt drink had been tipped. So after many weeks of srubbing and claening its looking a little better but there are still marks. i thought by putting some sort of finish on the floor this would disguise this and give them a slight sheen as the finish is dull looking and just looks dirty.
I put on Hg golv polish last night and am not happy, it looks terrible, streaky patchy (yes i followed insturctions). Guess its not really suitable for this sort of tile, prob a more porus type of tile.
So hence more cleaning and this will be removed!
Any suggestions on what i can use, just want a slight sheen to finish it off and protect the tile and hide the patchy marks, as these dissapear when the tile gets wet as it goes darker.
Any suggestions please, have spare tles left so can do a trial on them first.
