Just thought I'd post a few pics of my kitchen which I have received much advice about on this forum.
It has taken me three months, which does not include chipping away the inch and a half of concrete from the original quarry tiles.
I have also removed the false ceiling with spotights and added converted gas ceiling and walllights, taken all the modern MFI cupboards out and installed Edwardian work units (form an old school I believe) and beech tops. I have had matching doors made for the fridge freezer and microwave, boiler cupboards and have installed an original Victorian range to the original range alcove (which is only for show - I have a double gas range for that job).
The tiles you can see in the photos are from a Victorian porch - I managed to get a matching set of 50 off Ebay for £70!
The original kitchen was five years old and cost £7,000 including fitting (I have the receipts form the previous owners). I have reduced the amount of cupbards and have introduced a Victorian freestanding dresser, but i have cleared out the cupboard in my hall and made it into a pantry (which I now realise must have been the original one!). Have i devalued, added value or not affected the price of my house? Any thoughts and experiences on this would be much appreciated!
More pics, including befores to follow.
