Then for the plastering!
Our plasterer has just said he uses mesh in all his lime walls which I was surprised about as he said he’s quite traditional… he said it just belts and braces to prevent future cracking…
Anyone have any experience with using mesh ? I’m not against it as such just surprised he wasn’t going for hair or a more modern alternative like fibres in the lime screed…?
We’re going for an eco cork layer first…
Is mesh an acceptable thing in your guys eyes ?!
Is this cork some kind of board like wood fibre board? If so you'll likely need to use mesh when skimming over it.We’re about to lay the Foam glass and stuff for the limcrete floor, but chickened out of doing the lime slab ourselves so getting it done by limcrete co.

Will you link to the other thread please, I'm looking into limecrete on my internal walls myself.Yea that’s what they said they would do, shuttering it on then pouring the Hempcrete in, or use ready made hemp blocks from Europe attached with wires then back filled the voids… we didn’t like the sound of either for the reasons you mention above, space and flat wall…they said they could skim the wall first so they wouldn’t have to back fill, but still end up with 80mm hemp blocks then lime… space is limited as rooms are small!
I originally thought that Hempcrete was spayed on but apparently not many people gave that kind of equipment so I’m back to thinking of lime /cork mix!
I’ve just read your posts of another thread where you go into detail, very interesting and kudos for doing it yourself!
