facia boards

Hi all.
My original 150 year old facia boards have been eaten away by wasps, they have made a very large hole in two boards as they join in the corner. I would like to replace or repair them, any suggestions for wood for new replacment boards

Scary wasps you have.

For replacement woodwork the species of timber is probably less important than the installation detailing, surface treatment and subsequent maintenance.

Something like oak would be very durable, but ordinary joinery redwood would be perfectly adequate. A coat of preservative may deter those wasps. I don't know of any products which are specifically good for wasps. Or bad for wasps, depending on your viewpoint.

I have a garden shed shed in marine plywood, bees or wasps strip individual fibres of the face and carry them away! - weird!

Once you've fixed your fascia boards, you need to try and stop the wasps returning.

There are some useful non-poisonous wasp deterrent suggestions here.
