Am I currently getting quotes for the outside of our house to be re-rendered. Currently done in cement(unpainted). Constructed is early 19th century solid brick.
Of the quotes, some are for hacking off the cement and re-rendering in lime. This is the most expensive option, compared to pataching and using paints/coatings(beecks etc) over the existing.
my question is, the inside of the house is finished with modern unbreathable materials such as plasterboard and regular emulsion paint. With this in mind, is lime render the best option for the outside of the property given the inside is not particularly breathable?
