Looking for advice re use of lime based mortars for external repair to our 1828 Grade C listed church in Scotland. Our architect has specified St Austier Hourex for this but I've just read that it contains an amount of cement in the mix. Grateful for any thoughts/ ideas/ alternative suggestions. Thanks

What is the church built from, brick, stone? If stone, what type? Photos are also helpful 
Hourdex is an NHL5 base and with the additives as well will be very hard, so unless your church built from granite and is going to be staring down the teeth of some major storms I’d be surprised if it’s the best choice. Have you asked the architect why they specified it?
