External door seal

I'm on the lookout for a replacement door seal. The frame must have been fitted in the 1980s and does the job other than the fact the seal has split. Is anyone aware of a supplier that might sell this - ideally by the meter rather than a 50m roll! It's a V-shaped seal that compresses between the jamb and the face of the door. I wonder if there's a better alternative option? I was hoping to use the channel cut for the existing groove.

OIutfits like Screwfix supply quite large ranges of weather strip materials of different profiles. Their catalogue, and others like Toolstation, may be worth a look.

Looks very similar to what was on my front door, also a modern-ish replacement. Its fitted into the edge of the stop and compresses onto the front face of the door as it closes. I replaced it with Aquamac AQ21 bought by the meter on eBay.

Hi Cubist. Thanks - I took a look at the Screwfix option and couldn't find a good match. The only place I have found that does have something very close is Reddiseals but I've been deterred by the 50m roll size. I think it might be a question of stumbling upon the right one! It needs to be in place for next winter so no pressure.

Most things on a 50m roll also tend to be available on eBay by the meter. There's generally someone who sees the opportunity to suitably uplift the £/m cost whilst still saving you from buying an excess.

I recall buying much more weather seal than I needed when I draught-proofed our front door. It's of the type that has a tube that is compressed between the door and the jamb and is press fit installed in a 3mm rebate in the door jamb. I know I still have the residue, must be in the region of 6mts or more, and if you can supply me with the profile shape and dimensions of what you need I would be happy to send some on to you.

Thanks Alan. I think this should do the trick - it's not exactly the same profile but that doesn't seem too important. Hope all's well with you!
